The Cinque Terre make up one of the most important tourist attractions of the La Spezia Riviera, and Liguria in general, with its five villages: Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore. In summer they can be reached by daily ferries from Viareggio. The Gulf of Poets got its name from the fact that many poets, writers and artists lived here for long periods of time in the villages over the centuries, enamoured of the beauty of this “watery amphitheatre.” There is a daily ferry service to it from Viareggio during the summer months.
